French Updates

·         We are almost finishing the story “Les Animaux du bayou” as well as the school year Subhana Allah. The time just flies by. We did the following activities:

Ø  Practicing orally the vocabulary

Ø  Listening to the story

Ø  Reading the story very fast

Ø  Watching the play

Ø  Completing the writing activities “Les mots en ordre” and “Les questions totales”.

·         On Tuesday, May 20, 2014, we are having the third test of this term.

The test has 3 sections:

-          Dictée #6

-          Les questions totales related to the story

-          Listening  activity related to the story

Spelling vocabulary list , Dictée # 5:

1)      Tu portes un chapeau sur la tête.

2)       Je mange un sandwich. 

3)      Ma mère conduit une auto.

4)      J’utilise un crayon pour écrire.

5)      Il se lave le visage. 

 

·         In class, we are working all the time on our vocabulary and oral reading. We focus on our pronunciation, fluency and expression.

·         We are working on “Les questions partielles”.

·         We will have the last test first week of June. This last test will not have the spelling component.

·         We will be writing the story in our own words and presenting the play. These 2 activities will be done in class Insha’a Allah.

Poetry Unit

AS Salam Alaikum Parents,


       The Grade 4's have started the Poetry Unit. We will be writing variety of stylistic poems such as Haiku's, Limerick's, Ballad's, etc. JAk.

Used Book Sale

Assalamu Alakom Dear Parents,

Tomorrow inshaa'Allah will be the used book sale for Grade 6 Graduation. The book sale will be in Grade 6 A class during lunch recess so please send money with your kids.

The range of prices is from $0.50 - $4.00.

Assalam Alaikum Dear parents,

We would like to inform you that the French Café will be held on Wednesday, May 7.

The event wouldn’t be successful without your generous contributions.

For this year, Grade 4 students will contribute with dessert.

You may choose one from the following items:

Grade 4

Coffee (coffee powder) (1 pack)

Crepe: French pancakes (chocolate, jam)

Cake (Chocolate, Cheese cake,

Cookies (no nuts cookies)

Croissants (chocolate, cheese) 

Muffins any kind

Popsicles 

Freezes (frozen when brought to school)

*Donation must be labeled French Café and sent with student on Wednesday, May7 morning.

* For sibling, follow the schedule for the child in higher grade.
