Bullying Poster Contest

Bullying Poster Contest Rules and Specifications: Eligibility: All Abraar School students from grades 1 - 6.  Posters must be created only by an individual Student. Divisions: Posters will be judged in separate divisions for each grade level. There will be one winner per grade level.  The winner will be announced on November 28th, 2014. Theme: All posters must incorporate BULLYING theme. Also include the Character Trait theme for the month RESPECT Paper/Size: Any size is acceptable Art Media: Crayons, cut paper, felt tip pens, markers, pencils, pen and ink, etc, may be used to create the poster. Wood, plastic, glass, metal, fabric, and felt should not be part of the poster. Identification: Your NAME and grade must appear on the back of your poster. Copyright: Your poster cannot include any copyrighted characters, such as those from comics, cartoons, television programs, newspapers, magazines, etc. Deadline: Your poster must be turned in to Tr. Seher or Tr. Fatima by November 24th, 2014. If your poster is chosen it will be displayed around the school for the entire year. Posters will not be returned to students.

Mashallah we have finished memorizing Surat Al-Insan this week, while applying the tajweed rules and understanding the new vocabulary in the Surah.

Inshallah your child will have a test in the whole Surah on Wednesday. November.26th.2014

Please help your child practice for the test, there will be a rubric sent back with him/her after the test with their mark inshallah.

Homework

The good copy of the science project questions (research aspect) is due on Monday. Students will not be receiving their diorama box until they submit the good copy to me. Students also need to bring in supplies for their diorama such as play dough, clay, construction paper, paint, etc. by Monday. Have a great weekend :)

Cordillera Assignment- Clarification

Salam,

 Here is a clarification of what is expected for the poster of the Cordillera region. Students  needs to make a poster about the jobs that are prominent in the Cordillera region. They need to focus on the ones we read about in class (logging, mining, water resources, recreational activities) and explain about the three climate zones. They were also given the good copy paper (white paper) in class therefore they do not need to get their own. Here is a picture of a rough draft that a student was working on in class.

Cordillera Region Test

Salam,
 We have finished reading about the Cordillera region and inshAllah we will be having test on it next Friday November 14th, 2014. The test will consists of short answers. Students are also working on creating a poster where they are explaining to someone who needs a job to move to the Cordillera region. The poster must consist of the physical features and resources in the area that help creates jobs. If you have any questions please email me. The poster is due on Friday November 14th as well.
